Wreck-It Ralph 2 is Official and is Going to Wreck the Internet in 2018

Disney earlier had a livestream on Facebook confirming that Wreck-It Ralph 2 will be going out of the arcade and will be exploring the internet. Details after the jump.

Based from the image above, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz will jump to places that appeared to be parodies of popular websites. It was not clear yet what would be the story of the sequel and which other characters will be returning to join the duo. Regardless, we trust that it would be a good one based from the success of Wreck-It Ralph. We have to wait until March 9, 2018 to confirm this.

BURBANK, Calif. (June 30, 2016) – Wreck-It Ralph is heading back to the big screen, and this time, he’s wrecking the internet. The Oscar®-nominated Walt Disney Animation Studios team from the original film is reteaming for the follow-up, including director Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “The Simpsons”) and producer Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Bolt”). Phil Johnston (writer, “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” “Cedar Rapids”) joins Moore as director and a writer on the project. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman return as the bad-guy-turned-good, Ralph, and the girl with the game-winning glitch, Vanellope von Schweetz. The untitled sequel will hit theaters—literally—on March 9, 2018.
